Many of our kids are not healthy. They are not healthy becuase they have failed physical fitness. Their failed fitness is passed on as adults that develop chonic diseases. They are three to four times more likely to die early from chronic diseases. Their chronic diseases count for 80% of our total national health spending which amounted to 2.6 trillion dollars in 2010. Fifty percent of this cost could be reduced by giving elementary school children a daily one hour physical education to restore their failed fitness . We can reduce the cost by providing facility and staff that prevent kids failed fitness. The savings would be 1.3 trillion dollars.
